I always thought I would have a classic dark red, dark green, white and black wedding in November. Or a slightly more modern black, silver, and red wedding in February (no heart motifs allowed!)--anything but yet another summer wedding!
Instead, thanks to all of my family and friends who are students and teachers, I find myself planning a JUNE wedding--how stereotypical is that!? The great thing is that with summer wedding, I get to incorporate my favourite colour, ORANGE, into the theme! (I know, I know...colours and flowers don't BELONG to particular seasons, but a winter wedding with orange just seems weird to me!)
I have been obsessing over tiger lilies for the last year or so (Kiran even incorporated them into his proposal!), so they are a natural fit for the bridal bouquet. There were tiger lilies growing together with daisies in my parents' front yard, and I absolutely loved the fresh, casual combination.
Colour Inspiration: Wasabi and Pumpkin
I was also inspired by this fantastic colour combo found on The Knot; green seems like a natural complement to orange, with white and grey as my neutrals.
