Venue:Our formal "at home" reception will be held at our favourite vegan restaurant, which was, incidentally, the site of our first date! It's run by an Indonesian family and features a variety of Asian-inspired dishes.
|
You can see the entrance to the restaurant to the left. That corner booth is going to be our "photo booth." It's hard to see in the pic, but it's a beautiful red and gold patterned background. The table in front will obviously be moved out of the way, and there will be a table to the right for the guest book (or whatever we decide to do--I really don't like guest books!)

Food:
We will have a buffet with two appetizers, rice, and seven vegan entrees to choose from.
Tentative Program (Nov.8 Update):
5:00 pm - Cocktail hour begins with drinks and appetizers. The wedding party gets to mingle and have photos taken with guests. In the middle of this time, we will cut the cake, so that the staff has time to cut and plate it for later.
5:45 pm - Buffet dinner begins. 6:45 pm - Toasts and wine box ceremony. 7:20 - First dance, followed by everyone dancing. Break for bouquet toss. |
8:05 - Change into sari. BOLLYWOOD!!!
8:45 - Change into third dress. 9:00 - Serve cake. Thank yous. 9:15 - Special number from the newlyweds. Latin dancing! 9:45 - Last dance! |
Program:Haven't thought too much about this yet, but it looks like we will now be incorporating our wine box ceremony here.
We'll probably ask M to sing again too, just one song--maybe for our first dance? |

Cutting the Cake: Possibly "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Cake (haha!) My brother says we should use "Short Skirt, Long Jacket" because that's the only song most people know by Cake, so they'll be more likely to get the joke.
First Dance: "I Wouldn't Mind" by He is We Last Dance: Leaning towards "It's Over" by Audio Adrenaline |
